  • A Whole Chicken
  • 1 can of Beer (tall can)
  • Butter
  • Salt & Pepper


  1. Ensure the bird has rested for an hour so it can come to room temperature.
  2. Remove butcher’s twine and gizzards if applicable.
  3. Slather generously with butter.
  4. Add salt and pepper all over.
  5. Remove 2/3 of the beer from the can.
  6. Place can on baking tray and slide bird over top.
  7. Cook in a pre-heated oven at 350° until done (ask Google for advice on this).
