Cauliflower Gratin

Cauliflower Gratin

Just a nice side order. Easy and delish.

Serves: 4

Ingredients

1 head of cauliflower - cut into flourettes

1 cup of milk

2 tbsp butter

handful of cheese - chefs choice

equal flour to butter

bread crumbs

Preparation

  • prepare your bechamel - prepare roux - butter melted and add flour to create " dough "
  • cook out the flour for 2 mins
  • slightly warm some milk with some thyme and garlic - do not boil
  • add warm milk to roux  through sieve to keep out garlic and herb and whisk until thick - set aside
  • cook cauliflower until tender
  • drain
  • add cheese to bechamel, and then add strained cauliflower flourettes
  • mix all together and place into baking pan
  • top with bread crumbs and grated parm if desired
  • bake for about 15 minutes to cook the bechamel
  • let sit 5 minutes and then serve
