This simple and tasty dish takes no time at all. You can use it as an appetizer, side dish or if you're vegetarian it can be used as an excellent substitute for meat. Either way it will defintely add a delicious punch to your culinary repertoire with minimal effort.
Ingredients
6-8 Whole Portobello Mushrooms
3/4 Cup of Butter or Margerine
1/2 Tsp of Garlic (Granulated works best)
1/2 Tsp of Onion (Granulated works best)
1 Tbsp of Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Preparation
- Preheat grill to 400 degrees celcius.
- Dampen a cloth or paper towel and gently clean the mushrooms. Using a cloth helps the mushrooms avoid absorbing unnecessary liquid (And yes mushrooms should always be cleaned otherwise they can be gritty).
- Melt the butter and add the garlic, onion, juice, salt and pepper (If you're using fresh garlic and onion, it is ideal to let the butter sit a while to incorporate all the flavours). Brush the mushrooms with the butter mixture and place on the grill.
- Cook the mushrooms four to five minutes on each side and serve.
- Enjoy!
